First post production Model 1 sample
First generation Super Antenna Model 1 post production sample (photo above).Cabinet was done in white abs plastic. This was the first smooth surface prototype production sample from our plastics vendor.Godars first 500 piece order was for black cabinets. The plastics vendor made the mistake of sending us a white color sample instead of black for evaluation.*We discoverd the black finish models scratched easily.Just handling the cabinet would leave smudges and fingerprints. Cleaning them off with a simple cloth would scratch the finish. The white sample of the same material did not show any surface defects due to normal cleaning and handling.
A major change in cabinet black surface was needed.
We considered other colors and prints like wood grains etc.Textured high gloss black ABS plastic was the final color choice for all future super and Godar antenna cabinets.Easy to clean and maintain.High Impact indestructable ABS material is considered the best in the industry. All current GOdar antenna housings are made in high impact ABS textured black plastic.
The first generation Super antenna element set up consisted of a pair of 7 inline industrial steel elements connected internally by a pair of three inch coax cable wires.Elements are mounted under the top of the cabinet.

Model 1's new black textured finish 1995
one.jpg

First generation Model 1 with new black textured cabinet surface

Antenna prototype (above) is the only one in existence. This product sample is made of high gloss textured abs plastic.Cabinet design never went into production.Major change in the cabinet base support was proposed after this product sample was made.If you look close, you can see there is no lip support boarder around the base (see side photo for the base lip support).Same cabinet dimensions as the orginal 500,only with the new textured finish.

Bottom cover for the first generation 500 antennas was supported with ten plastic round and square posts. Each post was hand placed and glued around the interior edges of the cabinet.New lip design gives better sealing and support for the bottom cover.Antenna.This design change saves production time and over all labor and material costs.

Die-cast mold's had to be re-tooled for the next generation model 1 cabinet housing. All this resulted in one of the best quality antennas in the world.

HD-3 TWIN CROSSFIRE MESH HDTV ANTENNA (Photos below)

The HD-3 concept was inspired from orbiting space satillite designs. The twin solar panels have been replaced with passive steel mesh grills.HD-3 combines unique style and performance. Was Granted a design patent in 2006.
This antenna is an excellent performer on HDTV digital broadcast televison and standard VHF/ UHF/FM reception.

Mesh configurations are nothing new for UHF.They have been around since the 1940s.HD 3 is unique in that it has two receiveing mesh elements. Most UHF antennas have one.
In addition we added large match coil to expand broadband reception for VHF and FM stereo reception.

The first GODAR HD 3 prototypes were mounted on cardboard boxes. It was a challange to design a proper mesh element support base that was sylish and functional at the same time.Dozens of proto type support bases and covers were tested.

Side Photo shows one of the first HD-3 prototypes. This design used a wood platform for the mesh supports.Wood base was one of the orginal design considerations for HD-3.

On the lower left side we have the first HD-3 mounted on a hand made plastic support base. All abs panels were hand cut to size for this prototype. The support base design was reduced to the current production models at one inch.Special mesh mounting hardware was custom manufactured to Godars specifications.Antenna is broadbanded to receive digital HDTV standard VHF/UHF and FM stereo.Read more on the current model by clicking on the HD-3 Tab.
