| MODEL HDT-1 |
HD radio tuner.
This is one of the
first commercial home HD radio tuners introduced in spring of 2007.
Works just like satillite radio with
a quartz screen showing the stations call letters and song titles.HD radio is free and delivers super clean sound with no
audable background noise.
Photo shows live off air HD reception useing a FM 1a here in Gilbert
Arizona.
This tuner has excellent sensitivity and selectivity. The HDT-1 tuner pulled in local weak
FM analog stations signals at almost full meter gain. This was with Godar's FM1a indoors in many city locations.
Godar Model FM1A,HD-3,and Model 2a deluxe are excellent performers on HD radio.FM1A will deliver stable HD signals
in most indoor settings. This antenna will work in all city areas with full HD signal gain.
HD-3 & Model 2 is
more suited for fringe city areas where the digital signal can drop off. Also for severe reception areas inside homes, offices
and apartments. Both antennas deliver full stable signals across the radio frequencys.
| DENON AM/FM STEREO TUNER |
|
|
| MODEL TU550 |
Tuner(above) is one
of my top choices for overall performance. This Denon has been a favorite for testing antenna design over the
years.
The Denon TU 550 has the ability to lock in on most weak stations with excellent signal gain. One of
the very few tuners that will lock in on a distant FM station and hold the stereo carrier signal. All at one quarter or
less signal gain & lower noise.
Denons of the 500 model series are an excellent choice for
FM DXers.AM section is also excellent.
This model has most desired features such as signal gain 5 point LED meter.
Twenty station presets,Narrow/wide band selector.Tone quality is not bad for this model. This tuner can be purchased
on the used market around $100.00 to $150.00 US.
This SAE(above photo) was Godars
first digital readout tuner purchased for antenna testing back in 1996.Five point signal meter shows antenna signal gain.
| Kenwood AM/FM TUNER |
|
|
| MODEL KT8300 |
Kenwood KT8300(above) is
another favorite for antenna testing.
This model from the mid 1970s has in addition to the standard signal center
and gain meters,a multipath/deviation meter.
This was a favorite for testing in downtown city areas like
downtown Chicago ILL.Milwaukee Wisc,New York city New york, and San deigo Calif. These citys are known for multipath
problems.

| MODEL KM-60 |
Early 1960s Fisher USA tube tuner(above)
.
The signal centering indicator is a special vacuum tube positioned sideways. The pair of blue bars close
together for maximum signal gain. This is in addition to the signal strength meter on the right .This tuner has a 300 ohm antenna
line input only. 300 ohm screw terminal inputs are compatable with our FM1a and Model 2.A Deluxe .Common twin fork
lead match transformer is used for the coax cable connection.
Nice sounding quality tuner overall.Excellent
for DXing FM stations.
